  • We only use high quality jewelry metals made from your choice of either 14 kt gold-filled or 925 sterling silver. This includes ALL of our chains, wire, and findings (clasps, jump rings, backings, pendant settings, ect). Please check each product description for specifics. 

  • Gold fill is the best alternative to solid gold jewelry. It is a pressure bonded, dense layer of 14 kt gold. It is highly durable and will not tarnish, chip, fade, change color, or irritate sensitive skin.

    Unlike gold-plated jewelry, which has a very thin coating of gold, gold-filled jewelry contains a significantly higher amount of genuine gold— 5% or more of the item's total weight— which is then mechanically pressure bonded making them more durable and long-lasting. 

    Gold filled jewelry offers the luxurious look and feel of solid gold at a more affordable price, making it a popular choice for everyday wear. With proper care, gold filled jewelry can last a lifetime without fading or peeling.

  • Yes, gold filled jewelry is different from gold plated jewelry. 

    Gold filled jewelry is a mechanically pressure bonded, dense layer of 14 kt gold –at least 5% of the total weight. Gold fill will not tarnish, chip, fade, or irritate sensitive skin.

    In contrast, gold plated jewelry has a very thin layer of gold – the percentage of gold usually less than 0.05% of the total weight. This layer is applied to the surface of a base metal through electroplating.This thin coating will wear off almost immediately after a few uses, revealing the base metal underneath.

  • Very! All clasps on our necklaces, bracelets, and anklets are 100% secure. We solder all clasps and attachments to its chain, ensuring your jewelry will stay secure and in place. 

  • Yes, you can wear your jewelry in the ocean, shower and during workouts. Just make sure to avoid directly applying shampoos, soaps, and body wash, on your jewelry as they can contain harsh chemicals. After being in the ocean or working out, and before you get out of the shower, we recommend giving your jewelry a good rinse in clean water to ensure any residues are cleaned off.

  • We recommend that you keep your pearls separate from harder jewelry pieces like rings or bracelets to avoid scratches.The ideal storage for pearls is a soft-cloth pouch or a jewelry box with a soft lining. Avoid placing them in airtight containers, such as zip lock bags, as all pearls contain natural moisture. Storing them in an airtight environment can lead to brittleness and dull their shine.

    While showering, just make sure to avoid directly applying shampoos, soaps, and body wash, on your pearl jewelry as they can contain harsh chemicals. Before you get out of the shower, we recommend giving your jewelry a good rinse in clean water and dry with a soft, clean cloth to ensure any residues are cleaned off.

    Products such as perfumes, lotions and sunscreens can contain harsh chemicals and should be put on at least 30 minutes before you put on your pearls.

    If you wear perfumes, we recommend covering your pearls with your hands or a cloth before spraying to avoid getting any chemicals on the pearls. Or, simply apply the perfume with your other care products 30 minutes before.

  • Absolutely. All of our pearls are natural and 100% genuine. Some of our pearls have been treated with color enhancements, and will be specified as “enhanced” in the product description.

  • Yes! We get it, losing just one earring is so frustrating! We won’t burden you with buying a whole new pair. To buy a replacement earring, email us at contact@belandthemoon.com and make sure to include your previous order number. This price will be half of the current product price listed on our website.
